In addition to working in the offshore industry undertaking work in the North Sea, Arctic Circle, and the Atlantic, Richard ran his own contracting company for 12 years specialising in design and build contracts in a marine construction environment and some of these represent some of the work undertaken.

Design and Build Contract for installation of Archimedes Screw Hydro scheme in Settle, N.Yorks.
4yr maintenance programme with Forestry Enterprise, throughout north west , handrails, abutment repairs, masonry arch repairs.
Construction of small road bridge, Grizedale Forest for Forestry Enterprise.
Remedial work on the canal near Wigan, driving L8 sheet piles for British Waterways.
